Hydroseeding is a cheaper and more cost effective alternative to Hydromulching although it has a lower rate of success in terms of germination. This method is very similar to hydromulch but contains no mulch products.
Hydroseed consists of a blend of seed, fertiliser and a binder that helps hold the seed to the soil. This method of revegetation generally has a lower success rate when compared to hydromulching which uses the mulch layer to protect the seed. Envirostay in most cases, will use a special hydroseeding binder that will help fix the seed to the soil and hold the loose soil particles from wind erosion.
Hydroseeding has a number of applications such as new housing estates where a green appearance is desired prior to release for sale. This is temporarily achieved with the green dye that can last up to 6 months or until germination commences and the new grasses take over and revegetate the disturbed area. Hydroseed is also commonly used in areas that need revegetation at a budget price but unfortunately the level of success is a lot lower than hydromulch unless it receives sufficient watering.
